Plano's PLASTOW3700STDWP is the O-ring-seal member of the StowAway family. It combines a transparent lid, a single latch and a dedicated labeling area. The source explicitly states an IPX7 rating, making the claim more specific than a general waterproof adjective. We identify it as a manufacturer specification rather than a result of our own immersion test, and do not extend it to damaged, incorrectly closed or worn boxes.
The maker describes the rated condition as up to one meter for thirty minutes. Follow the current supplied instructions and limitations rather than treating that statement as unrestricted underwater storage. Inspect the seal, remove trapped material and ensure the latch fully engages before exposure. Rustricor is also named, but a corrosion-control treatment does not guarantee that tackle stored wet or dirty will remain unaffected.
The 3700 designation remains a nominal family label, even where source measurements appear consistent.
